Pump Curve of Beat Pump
Pump curves of Beet Pump were derived from the actual experiment and the analysis of hydro-dynamicts. These data are based on the assumption that pure water is pumped when submergence is 10 feet. If solids are contained in the water, or viscosity of the fluid is higher than that of water, this puming rate will be reducer for the same amount of air lfow rate, or more air flow will be necessary for the same pumping rate. When the water depth is reduced, the pumping rate is reduced also with the same amount of air flow and lift.
Submergence Ratio
The submergence ratio is one of the key parameters to determine the pumping rate. This ratio is calculated as shown in the figure :

More lift?
According to the pump curves shown above, the smallest submergence ratio is 30%. However, if a reducer is installed at the level of water surface,the lift is significantly increased.
